The Ormond Beach American Legion was chartered on October 6th, 1950. Not long afterwards the name was changed to the "CASIN YOUNG" Memorial American Legion Post 267 in memory of WW II war hero, Navy Captain Casin Young who was killed in battle, in the Solomon Islands in the Pacific theatre.
